IYC Festival

Last Saturday, me and my sister, Dita, went to Indonesian Youth Conference Festival 2011. Last year, the event was held in Komunitas Salihara, but as the enthusiasts increase, this year it was held in a bigger place, Wisma Nusantara Nikko Hotel. In this event, we were going to attend some seminars and we could choose the topics. There were 12 topics and we could choose 3 of them. And after those 3 sessions, we'd have a surprise session and then music performance. We choose Media session with Putra Nababan and Najwa Shihab, Diplomacy session with someone of the US Embassy and someone of UNIC (United Nations Information Centre) , and Sudut Pembaharuan session with Tri Mumpuni and Budi Soehardi. They were so inspired! :) If all of my school teachers talked like Putra Nababan, I would never ever feel sleepy at class! Haha.. :p He's a great man, a great reporter, and a great news anchor. The way he talked to the audience was so fun. And Najwa Shihab was great too. Wow, I adore them so much! I wish I can meet them again someday. :)
When Budi Soehardi told us about Roslin Orphanage, I was so impressed. How big his heart is to build an orphanage like that to help children that were left by their parents. I felt so sad to hear that one child was almost flushed in the toilet by his mother when he was born.

Aaand... Guess who the speakers in the surprise session!
Desi Anwar and Jay Subiakto!
Woohooo....
Desi Anwar is a Senior Anchor, TV Journalist and Producer, Writer, Photographer, Media & Communications Specialist. She told us about her experiences of interviewing famous people. The three of them are Dalai Lama, Richard Branson, and Kitaro.
I was so amazed by some commercials that Jay made for a cigarette brand and a beauty product. Those are like no others. He showed some Indonesian women in the commercial for a beauty product. Not the fair-skinned and skinny women, but the original Indonesian women. And in the commercials for a cigarette brand, he showed some beautiful places in Indonesia. That was a brilliant idea. He's so brilliant and awesome. Haha.. :p
After that, The Trees and The Wild (TTATW) performed some of their songs. Since I saw them in Festive Sound, I kinda like them. And then ALEXA performed their songs too.

P.S.: Imam Darto or Mas Darto, the announcer in Prambors Radio, was the MC (with Andari too). Aaand... he replied my tweet! Ha! So glaaaddd.. (~˘o˘)~
